Lortone Tumbler, Stainless Steel shot and Shine Brite are sold together in this special kit!
Designed for years of trouble free service, this 3 pound capacity tumbler is perfect for cleaning and burnishing your sterling silver, silver filled, copper, brass, gold and gold filled jewelry and jump rings. The barrel is made from a hard rubber to minimize noise. Weighs 5 pounds.
A liquid burnishing compound made especially for use in the rotary tumbler with stainless steel shot. It is an odorless, biodegradable concentrate that leaves tumbled pieces bright and clean.
2 POUND BAG OF SHOT
Highly polished stainless steel shot mixture known as the "Jewelers Mix" is a combination of three shapes: diagonal, round and pin. Each does a different job in burnishing metals to a mirror bright finish in the minimum amount of time.
Stainless steel requires only occasional cleaning and gives great uniformity. And since it's stainless steel, it is rust and corrosion resistant and able to stand up to strong compounds.
BEFORE TUMBLING YOUR JEWELRY
- When first using your tumbler or shot, tumble your stainless steel shot with distilled water (enough to cover the shot) and about a tsp of Shine Brite for 20 minutes. Drain, rinse and repeat. This will remove any oils or dirt left on the shot from the manufacturing process. If the water doesn't drain clean after the 2nd run, repeat again.
- Because everyone's water is different, we recommend only tumbling with distilled water.
- Always rinse tumbler barrel and shot after every use.
- Do not store shot in the tumbler barrel. This is to ensure that the shot and barrel stay dry between uses.
Due to the size of this item, it cannot ship Flat Rate and must go Priority. This item will not be shipped outside of the USA/CAN.
Please read the manufacturers pamphlet (included with Tumbler) for proper care and maintenance of your Tumbler.
For best results, we recommend putting in about 1.5lbs of Stainless Steel Shot, your jewelry or jump rings and a 5 drops of Shine Brite Burnishing Compound. Fill with water 1" above your media. I tend to tumble for 30 or so minutes. To harden Jump Rings, tumble for at least an hour.
Do not over fill your tumbler with material. If your barrel weighs more than 3lbs, it will not move.

I am so glad I bought this set. Everything comes out so nice and shiny and finished looking. I have arthritis and this is a big help. I wasn't sure how loud it would be because I had a rock tumbler years ago and it was noisy and took so long to see results. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it's very quiet and you get fantastic results in a short amount of time.
Yes! This set is absolutely worth getting. My blanks go from "very nice" to "Oh my God, it's so shiny, I could DIE!"
I use distilled water and just a drop (maybe two) of Shine Brite, along with the stainless steel shot. In most cases, I only tumble 20-45 minutes and get awesome results.
Words of warning: Some of the shot is pointy, and when I reached in to retrieve my items, I got poked and jerked my hand out, causing the shot to go everywhere, including my kitchen sink/garbage disposal. So maybe use tongs to get your stuff out.
Also, remember to clean your shot and barrel; I've heard stories of goop getting in there that gunks up your projects.
