I've loved every product I've purchased from Beaducation...except this one. Since it's not a Beaducation-made product I don't feel too badly for leaving this negative review.
I had high hopes for the product when it made its debut last month. Since I've always used either an industrial sharpie or metal paint markers to darken my impressions. It worked fine, but I was never sure that I was using the best material for the job. When this came out I thought "Wow! This has got to be IT!"
What a disappointment. :( I followed the instructions precisely on several different pieces with several different types of metal from 20g to 18g. The ink doesn't stick. Period.
Even if your impressions are deep, the ink wipes right off after you wait the 10 seconds as instructed. And even if you leave it on overnight as I did to try to test it, it still comes off.
If it does that to my work when it's on the bench, it's going to do that when my customers are wearing it.
I'm bummed I wasted $8 on this. I'll stick to sharpies and paint markers.
Just wanted to update my review about this product....I'm really, really impressed with the way Beaducation is looking into this. They contacted me personally and are looking into why this product is giving me such issues. Probably user error, who knows, but it's great that the company is so responsive. Thanks all!
Thanks for the great customer service
I have had this product for awhile and just got around to trying it. I like it and am phasing out the permanent sharpie marker to darken my impressions.
This product works great! The trick is to not try it again,do it only once,so make sure the impressions are all filled the first time. And Use a kleenx. For whatever reason if you try to do it more than once it doesn't work well.
I have used this on 30 pieces today and have yet to have one single issue. Much faster than using a sharpie. I find that it really gets into those tiny grooves a lot better than a sharpie. I would definitely recommend this product.
