Using a torch, weaving wire and having it result in a beautiful ring; what could be better? In this class, wire expert Lisa Claxton, shares her unique design, The Hug Ring. This is the perfect class for the experienced wire worker who wants to jump into the world of fusing metal. Students will learn to combine these two techniques, plus tips and tricks on how to make stylish variations on this design.

This class has a run time of 39 minutes, 13 seconds.

This class was good - nothing jarringly wrong with it, but it could have been a little better. I expected it to mainly cover weaving wire, which it did, but there was a point when Lisa changed her method of wrapping that just didn't compute - & I've been making wire jewelry for years. It was when she turned the ring aperture over that her explanation failed. To someone fairly new at weaving it left much to be desired! For the seasoned wire-worker this wouldn't have been crucial, but then it's not the learned who are taking these classes, is it?

Another thing that bothered me, though it had nothing to do with her teaching, was her failure to show participants what the other designs looked like when complete. If people are going to leave something hanging I'd rather they didn't start to begin with.

All in all, though, I would recommend this video to anyone with an interest in making wire jewelry. She did explain the majority of her material very well. The class is not for the experienced but the novice should sail through it with only a few stumbles. Just don't bug out when she turns the ring form over & really doesn't let you in on the secret of how her weaving method changed.

Could use a handout for those of us who learn better w/o video. Very irritating to have to keep going thru video just for a point or two. Thank you.
