This necklace is an innovative and economical take on a Native American classic Squash Blossom Necklace. Ours is a fun and "lucky" alternative since it is made mainly with our copper horseshoe blanks and copper circles. The center part is cut from copper sheet and we were able to cut it our with our French Shears and then refine it with a little bit of filing. Our horseshoe blank comes in silver, gold fill, silver filled, brass and of course copper. So you have a range of options if you prefer the look of one metal to another, or want to mix it all up! Utilize your basic stamping skills and beginning soldering with this fun and stylish project.
Copper 24 gauge Sheet Metal, 3" x 3" piece
We cut out our center horseshoe from this copper sheet. We actually copied the picture from our website and then enlarged it to print it out. Once you have it in paper form, you can trace it onto your sheet metal with a sharpie.
Copper 1/8" Rivet Tube, 6" Long
We sawed this tube into small pieces, and soldered them to the back of our horseshoe blanks so we could then thread the blanks onto our chain.
