This Tronex cutter has a razor flush edge finish. The backside is flat at at angle of 45 degrees to the cutting surfaces. These have an exceptionally sharp edges which produces cuts with virtually no raised surface or "pinch". They have a fine set screw stop built into the handle to prevent these exceptionally sharp edges from dulling themselves, even when you apply a very strong cutting force.

This cutter is GREAT for your thicker gauges.  Like we said above, you can cut up to 12 gauge, but if cutting Fine Silver (which is significantly softer than Sterling) you can cut up to 8 gauge.

These cutters are great for fine silver fusing because to fuse you need an extra flush cut. You could cut a bit thicker with these if working with fine silver because it is so much softer.
