This round mandrel is used for forming and shaping. It graduates in size from 12mm to 24mm. This mandrel does not have ring size indicating grooves, it's smooth all the way down.
Attention FUSERS!!!....these mandrels are great way to add some new shapes to your fused rings. Use them to make finger rings or rings for links. Since I got these, I have been making tons of shaped rings and really cool linked chains.
Use a plastic mallet to hammer the ring directly on this mandrel. Using this hammer will shape the ring without totally flattening the wire. To shape and flatten the ring, use a chasing hammer. I really like using the chasing hammer on these mandrels because it gives the rings a really defined look. When making links, I then take them off the mandrel and hammer them a bit on top (on a steel bench block) to clean up the front and back.
Don't know how to fuse Fine Silver yet? It is so easy (and addicting). Click here to check out our online video class with Kriss Silva.
