Learn the difference between using the French Shears and the Scissor Shears to cut your metal.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Great Tip: Create a paper template of the shape you want to cut out. If you need 2 for earrings double up the paper so you have identical shapes.
- Using a glue stick, attach the template to the sheet. This will work as your stencil to know where to cut!
- If you find the edges are too rough you can use a file to soften the metal.
Anodized Aluminum Red Earrings
The pretty patterns on our Anodized Aluminum Sheet is all you need to make a great piece of jewelry.
Print out a shape in your printer, adhere to the aluminum sheet with a glue stick and cut out! Remove the paper and wash off any excess glue. Punch a hole and add a jump ring ...TA DA! JEWELRY!
It's really that easy!
With this project we used the Scissor Shears, but for more intricate pieces you should use the saw.
