Dowels — ½ & ¼ dowel rods approx. 4” in length. Wood or acrylic.
Optional Drawplate — Wooden draw plate if you wish to draw your necklace down to a thinner diameter.

Wire — 24g Sterling Silver dead soft round wire, (20 ft).

Using only two elements, an awl and sterling wire, we will explore the technique of fashioning a rope out of metal. This self-supported “knitted” form is flexible and comfortable to wear. It also offers a terrific surface for easy embellishment. This Viking Knit is not done on a dowel or an allen wrench. Iris teaches it unsupported which lends itself to more freeform work.
